While the James Bond series of games has seen its peak with Goldeneye for the Nintendo 64, the franchise hasn’t managed to climb back to this same level of prominence with the franchise’s latest spate of releases. Well, it seems Activision seeks to remedy that with 007 Legends.
The game will have an original, overarching storyline tying together SIX classic James Bond movies, and it will conclude in conjunction with this year’s James Bond flick Skyfall.
David Oxford, Executive VP of Publishing for Activision had this to say.
To honor 50 years of the world’s top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet…Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom, has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game.
In addition to the game’s single-player campaign — which include familar Bond tropes such as: high-tech gadgets, Bond’s Walter PPK , “mingling” with gorgeous Bond women, the game will also see the return of the Mi6 Ops mission from Goldeneye 007: Reloaded.
The game is scheduled to be out this fall and is being developed by Eurocom for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
