Electronic Arts is planning to move its Need for Speed series one step further as they’ve joined with George and John Gatins to adapt “Need for Speed” into a movie feature, something in the same league as ‘The Fast & The Furious’.
John Gatins and EA will produce the project, and United Talent Agency is assembling the package and shopping the script. Warner Bros., Sony and Paramount are said to be interested in snatching film rights, with Paramount apparently the frontrunner.
This is a move the was pre-complimented by the release of Need for Speed: The Run, which itself featured a movie-like plot for the first time in the series’ long-running history and featured real-life actors Sean Faris and Christina Hendricks.
Stay tuned for more news regarding the development of ‘Need for Speed: The Movie’ (absolutely unofficial name).
