Gears of War Kinect Officially Cancelled
In news that should sadden no one, Epic has just confirmed that the long-rumored Gears of War Kinect game called – Gears of War: Exile – is no longer being worked on and is now “unofficially” officially cancelled.
I’m saying unofficially since Microsoft and Epic Games has never admitted that the game existed in the first place.
This debunking was confirmed by Epic Games creative lead Cliff Bleszinski who said:
Let’s just bury the hatchet now; Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can’t give any details about that has since been cancelled.
Aside from the game being built around the Gears universe and employing Microsoft’s Kinect motion-controller; not much else is known about this long-rumored project. It first came to the public eye when Xbox 360 World Magazine revealed that the game was supposed to be unveiled at last year’s E3 – which never happened for unknown reasons.
Is this a sign that a “core” game won’t work with Kinect or did Epic just move the project to the next Xbox? Your guess is as good as mine at this point.
