According to VVG247’s sources – again, it’s been revealed that Sony is aiming to release the PS4 before Microsoft releases the Xbox 720. Supposedly, the next Xbox will be out in 2013’s Christmas schedule – and Sony’s aiming to jump the gun before Microsoft gets a head start.
Supposedly, the graphics “goalpost” for the PS4, including tech specs were in place as early as two years ago and that Sony’s is “confident” it will have the console out in the market ahead of the next Xbox’s release.
One source stated this little tidbit of info:
Sony are completely in the belief that they have the jump on Microsoft this time, You should be watching the timing of next year’s E3 keynotes, and who’s going to go first.
Another source claims that all next-gen systems will be in place by 2014.
Allegedly,Sony has spoken to “favored partners” regarding the PS4. One source claims, “Top line publishers already know about it,” our source said. “Developers working with publishers – like Ubisoft, for example – already know what’s going on. They’re already working on it.”
While most developers will be fully briefed regarding the upcoming console by the end of this year, it’s been reported that some companies have been invited to events in the US which will take place this May and June.
The rumor doesn’t stop there; in addition, it’s been told that elements of the PlayStation Vita’s hardware has been changed to ensure compatibility with one another – similar to the Wii U and its tablet controller. It’s also alleged that the Vita will be used to act as a controller for the PS4 -though it wasn’t disclosed if it will replace the DualShock as the unit’s new control method altogether.
Again, take everything in with a grain of salt as we don’t know how trustworthy these “sources” are; but with this much smoke, I’d gather there’s some “fire” to all these rumors that keep cropping up.
