Dungeon-crawler fans, your prayers have finally been answered! Blizzard has now officially announced Diablo III’s release date. Yes, this is not for a beta date, no other voodoo involved but the game’s actual date when it hits store shelves for rabid gamers to buy it.
The game will be out on May 15 for the PC and Mac for the US, Canada, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. People in the countries listed can buy Diablo III via Battle.net or from retailers.
If you’re in Russia or in Latin America, you have to wait a little longer, as the game will be out there on June 7.
Of course, you can’t have an official release date without an official press statement. Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard had this to say:
After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we’re now in the homestretch. We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15.
Now that you know the game’s release date, what will you do between now and May 15? I’m guessing re-playing Diablo II with all your friends might be a good start, no?
