The fate of the sequel to the game that inspired the modern post-apocalyptic RPGs has been put into the hands of the gamers. Once again, you have a chance to revive a classic franchise by funding the development through Kickstarter.
InXile has launched its Kickstarter page to fund the development of Wasteland 2, and if you were the fan of the original game, visit the campaign page and back the development!
At the time of writing this post, Wasteland 2 is sitting on a total of $$196,619 with an overall goal of $1m but fans are only required to fund $900,000. Studio founder, Brian Fargo has pledged the remaining $100,000 if Wasteland 2 campaign reaches its goal before April 17.
There is more to it though, if the Wasteland gets more funding, this extra money will be used to make the game World, bigger and better. You can read the more specific details and video pitch after the break.
At $1.25 million, the money will go primarily into making the world bigger, adding more maps, more divergent stories and even more music.
At $1.5 million, the world gets even bigger. You’ll have more adventures to play, more challenges to deal with, and a greater level of complexity to the entire storyline.
We’ll add more environments, story elements, and characters to make the rich world come alive even more. We will even be able to bring Wasteland 2 to OS X for Mac lovers. And after $1.5 million the sky is the limit.
What are you waiting? Fund It!
