Crytek Will Announce a “Spectacular” Console/PC Project in April

During last week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC), Crytek’s GM of games, Nick Button-Brown, revealed that the they will unveil their latest project next month and that it’s “”the best of that kind of project we’ve ever done.”

Crytek, which is now working on the sequel for Homefront, Ryse ( a “core” Kinect game) and its F2P shooter Warface will be adding another title to its roster soon.

Speaking to CVG, Button-Brown had this to say:

We still want to deliver the highest quality that we can, wherever we go,” he added. “You know about Homefront, you know about Ryse. We are working on another project… [laughs] all three of which are looking really good.

The other project looks absolutely fantastic – I mean, genuinely the best of that kind of project we’ve ever done…It looks spectacular, the team are doing really, really well and it’s just really nice to see the team really enthusiastic about what they’re doing. They’re really happy.

While he didn’t reveal anything else, is it safe to speculate that it isn’t Crysis 3? I don’t doubt they are working on it, but it seems like what they’re going to unveil next month is not par for the course in regards to their games history.

In any event, we’ll be here to report on whatever that “spectacular” thing is in April.
