Mass Effect 3 on Xbox 360 Will Not Allow Save Import From Cloud

Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 3 has arrived, and lots of players will be importing their safely stored saves from the previous game in the series to carry over the decisions they made and the consequences they faced.

However, Mass Effect 3 on Xbox 360 will not allow you to import Mass Effect 2 saves from the cloud. Similarly, local save files that have been moved from another Xbox 360 through a cloud will also not be usable.

So, if you have transferred your save files to another Xbox 360 via cloud then you must transfer it back, and then re-transfer manually through USB or HDD transfer cable.

Electronic Arts announced this today when facing questions regarding the issue, confirming that it is not possible to import saves from the cloud or by the other mentioned methods.

Another situation where ME2 saves will not work is if you had tampered with the saves and attempted to successfully accomplish the final suicide mission through some method of cheating.

Obviously, this has led to a lot of upset Xbox 360 users. If you’ve got your previous hard drive, then there’s a good chance you can get the saves working, albeit through a long workaround.

And as for those who seemed to have misplaced their older drives, and are attempting to sync through cloud: well, let’s hope EA is less casual next time around
