In news that should make fans happy, Mojang, the creator of Minecraft, has hired people straight from its community. Their job is to help enhance server support for Minecraft – it is kinda famous now, y’know?
The people hired were chosen from Bukkit — a community-based group focused on Minecraft server implementation. Lead developer Jens Bergensten relayed what the new hires will have to do with the developer.
[The team] will work on improving both the server and the client to offer better official support for larger servers and server modifications.
Bergensten also gives the reason why they were chosen in particular. He mentions that the team was hired over other Minecraft groups was because they always kept server admins in mind when developing additions to the title.
This is certainly encouraging for those in the modding community, no? Best of luck to the people hired.
