While the PlayStation Vita’s Japanese launch was a mixed bag, it seems to be doing rather well in the US – at least that’s what Tretton is referring to. Jack Tretton is the CEO and president of Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA). In short, he’s the big kahuna when it comes to PlayStation in the US.
Tretton disclosed that he’s seeing a “very, very positive” sales forecast right now and added, memory (memory cards) is going out the door very aggressively despite the fact that memory is in a lot of the presale bundles. The software appears to be selling quite well top to bottom.”
It’s too early to tell if the PlayStation Vita is a hit or a flop in the US right now, but for the sake of gamers everywhere, let’s just hope it fares better in the West than its performance in Japan.
