Mass Effect 3 Literally Goes Into Space

By   /   Feb 17, 2012

While Mass Effect is based in inter-galactic planets and space, EA seems to be taking things a bit too literally; as they’re going to be sending physical copies of Mass Effect 3 into space itself.

In a report by USA Today, EA will use weather balloons to launch the game in New York, San Francisco, Berlin, London and Paris. Each unit will be outfitted with a GPS tracker, allowing people on Earth to monitor where it’s going and more importantly, where it’s going to land.

If you’re lucky enough to live near the aforementioned launch areas, make sure to keep an eye out for when these packages return here, as people can get it and be the first people in the world to play Mass Effect 3.

You can keep track of how the space-faring is going by going to the official Mass Effect website. Don’t forget that ME3 will be out this coming March 6 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
