In an interview with The New York Times, Sony senior director John Koller states that the campaign was “the largest platform launch in terms of marketing investment we’ve ever had.”
Sony’s promising ad placements for the handheld device during popular TV shows, social media hooks, retail partnerships and even Vita events called Vita Social Clubs – where people can try out the PlayStation Vita for themselves. The ad campaign’s new tagline will be, “Never Stop Playing.” Quite obviously hinting that going outside the house doesn’t necessarily mean that one has to stop gaming.
Of course, the PlayStation Vita has seen better days in Japan. Hopefully, this massive marketing push will push it into the forefront of peoples’ minds.
