Respawn’s First Game Dated for March 2013

First-Person Shooter fans might want to take notice, as Respawn Entertainment’s first game under EA”s Partners program is projected for a March 2013 release.

In a marketing calendar from EA Partners, unearthed by French gaming site HardGamers, also shows off news for other game titles such as: Insomniac’s Outernauts, The Secret World and Populous.

All of these games are targeted within the same March 2013 time-frame, if this calendar is accurate, that would mean that EA will have a very busy March next year.

Respawn Entertainment, which is made up of ex-Infinity Ward employees and founders Jason West and Vince Zampella, have been very quiet regarding their latest project. Given the team’s pedigree, it would be safe to assume that it will be an FPS.

Infinity Ward, is of course, responsible for the universally-lauded Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and its sequel Modern Warfare 2. Given that these two games were the catalyst for Call of Duty’s FPS dominance, it’s quite easy to understand why Respawn’s next game is a very big deal – FPS fan or not.

In any case, EA has yet to comment on the leaked internal calendar’s validity. Let’s just hope that this year’s E3 brings more details to light.

Are you excited to see what the minds behind Call of Duty 4 can bring to the table? Would you want it to be another military-based FPS game or something a little more futuristic perhaps?
