Platinum Game’s next major project, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, has been receiving criticism for being a multi-platform game, contrary to the original series. However, the developers have said that the PlayStation 3 will be the lead platform for the game.
This was revealed in a response to a Tweet asking “What is the base platform for MG Rising?” Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba replied “PlayStation3”. It does appear that the company is trying to avoid repeating the technical mistakes of Bayonetta, in which only the 360 version was developed with work on the PS3 version outsourced.
And you might be thinking what exactly it was you saw in the Making Of video of the game, in which the game was shown being played with an Xbox 360 controller. However, Inaba stated that the controller was being used on the PC, used for coding the cross-platform development.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is expected on PS3 and 360 next year.
