Doom 4 Delayed After Rage’s Failure

Doom 4
An unnamed source has tipped Kotaku that a decision has been made to indefinitely postpone Doom 4 after disappointing reviews and technical issues for id’s Rage.

The source close to Bethesda told Kotaku that the decision was made in a company wide meeting held in Dallas and what prompted this decision was ‘serious lack of confidence in the project management team at id’ that prompted this decision.

It hasn’t been confirmed by any of the parties yet so we recommend you to take it with a bit of caution. Rage was released last week on all platforms and scored average reviews, partly due to plethora of technical issues it encountered on PC, which was supposedly its home platform.

Update #1
Bethesda PR frontman, Peter Hines has denied the rumor and have called the report by Kotaku, a “complete bollocks”.

Re: DOOM 4 rumor, games are done when they are done and no title under development at id has been postponed – indefinitely or otherwise.

He continued with another tweet:

We don’t comment on unannounced games and DOOM 4 hasn’t been announced (though I appreciate that id has previously referenced DOOM 4), Hines said. Games are done when they are done and no title under development at id has been postponed – indefinitely or otherwise

Interesting day, isn’t it ?
