Battlefield: Bad Company 2 had a good run but it is still far behind it’s competitor Call of Duty: Black Ops in the sales count. In an interview with Gamasutra, Electronic Arts CFO Eric Brown has revealed that they have already 1.25M pre-orders in the bag for Battlefield 3.
To date we have about 1.25 million preorders on Battlefield 3, so it’s still well ahead of its predecessor title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, in regards to pre-orders in the same number of weeks until launch. So it’s doing very well
It’s not a bad figure at all as it’s predecessor Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has sold 5M copies since its release. But if we see Black Ops’ stats, the record breaking installment in the series has sold massive 30M copies since the launch. Will Battlefield 3 be able to close this margin and overcome the popularity of Call of Duty franchise? It’s difficult but not impossible.
