MotorStorm Apocalypse Update Brings Mode Editor
Bike-racing, action and explosions, what more could you want from MotorStorm? Not much? How about the liberty of creating your own games, sharing your experience with others, and using your PS3 steering wheels to rides like true riders?
All this will be possible my MotorStorming brethren, as this new update introduces a Mode Editor that allows you to share your customized bad-ass vehicles, and let you use PlayStation Move and PS3 compatible steering wheels. To get the update, just start MotorStorm Apocalypse while connected to PSN and you’ll be prompted to download the update. Yay!
Now that the introductory bit is done, it might be worthy to look at some of the details of the features included in this oh-so-awesome update.
The first and most interesting feature is the brand new Mode Editor. You can create new game modes from scratch, and then play them with other players both online and offline. The editor empowers you with the capability to change lots of variables, such as no brakes, infinite boost, conventional Race mode with no vehicle attack, mirrored tracks, and a heck lot more which you can mix up to create totally unexpected scenarios.
Another cool feature is sharing your customized vehicle designs with others, if you’re generous enough to do so. You can do this via motorstorm.com, and download any that you like to apply on your vehicles. All you have to do to share is upload you personalized vehicle to your Profile area on motorstorm.com.
The third great tweak to the game is the support of PlayStation Move and certain PS3 wheels, which also include customizability and configuration options. The thrill would be doubled with the liberty of using a yet realistic way of handling your customized vehicles.
Supported steering wheels are: Logitech G25, Logitech G27, Logitech Driving Force GT and Logitech Driving Force Pro. Furthermore, other improvements have also been made in response to continued feedback, such as new race clan tags, winning a bet when opponent is disconnected or disqualified, and improvements to lobby privacy.
The community website has also been improved to show player stats over the last 10 races and shared vehicles. Keep yourself up-to-date as MotorStorm Apocalypse is truly alive and speeding. We’ll be riding even when it’s the end of the world!
