Modern Warfare 3 Headed To Wii
Yesterday Activision confirmed that the hotly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, would be coming to Wii on November 8th alongside the PlayStation 3, Windows, and Xbox 360. Activision also revealed who is responsible for the development of the Wii version of the heavily awaited war-based shooter, and it’s the renowned Treyarch which is busy at the task.
Infinity Ward’s creative strategist Robert Browning announced the news via a podcast with social media manager Dan Amrich. Robert Browning stated how well the Wii has grown to become a competitive gaming platform, and how Treyarch has shown that a fantastic Call of Duty experience can be had on it.
Treyarch has had its share of developing Call of Duty games, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty 4: Reflex (for the Wii) and various others, but this is the first time they are working on the Modern Warfare series.
This increase the number of dev teams for Modern Warfare 3 to a total of four, as Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward are working on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of the game while Beachhead Studios is handling Call of Duty: Elite, the social service behind the upcoming shooter.
This is definitely good news for Wii owners, as Treyarch’s constant support for Nintendo’s platform has allowed them to experience the Call of Duty thrill on it.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will continue from where Modern Warfare 2 left off, having a fictional yet plausible plot that is set on a global stage, with featured real-life locations such as New York, London, Paris and more.
