MCVUK reports that Microsoft has pushed the cloud saves functionality in the select Xbox Live Arcade games. Though the numbers are low, and it seems more of a technical test.
Expect few of the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade titles to feature this functionality which will allow users to download and resume saved games from any console. You can also recover gamertags on any another machine using this service.
This small scale technical assessment test will pave the way for a full scale release which is expected to be bundled with the next dashboard update for Xbox 360.
This comes in after Microsoft initially announced its plans to bring Cloud Saves to Xbox 360 at E3 last month and it is an obvious response to Sony’s cross-platform cloud saves functionality.
Update. Microsoft Spokesperson has confirmed to Joystiq that [cloud storage] service has not gone live yet,”.
