It seems Sony has reached an agreement with Japanese govt. and credit card companies, who demanded Sony to tighten up the security of the Playstation Network before restoring the service fully in the country.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has released a statement today, as cited by Siliconera, that the Playstation Store will re-open on July 6, allowing Playstation Network registered Japanese users to fully use the service.
It’s worth noting that the Welcome Back promotion is over for North America but Sony is running a similar promotion in Japan. Playstation Network members in Japan will be given free tokens to redeem, which will grant them one month of free Playstation Plus subscription, 30 days of ToroStation and up to four games.
