E3 2011: Ubisoft Press Conference Round Up

After EA, Ubisoft joined the party at E3 2011. Ubisoft intrigued the audience with their host ‘Mr. Caffeine’ and their retro themed games demonstrations. Several surprise appearances. Read through the brief summary of what was shown during Ubisoft’s E3 2011 press conference.

  • Rayman Origins – 2D platformer featuring 4 player co-op with levels inspired by classic games.
  • Driver: San Francisco – Ubisoft revealed some of the gameplay features of Driver: San Francisco during the live demonstration. These features include first-person in-cockpit view, variety of different vehicles, and street race settings.
  • Far Cry 3 – Surprise Surprise, Ubisoft for the first time, revealed the sequel to award winning game, Far Cry 2. By the looks of it, it was stunning with amazing graphics, strong story, and lots of gun blazing on a rather similar Island setting that has been the norm of Far Cry games.
  • Brothers in Arms: Furious Four – Gearbox Studios, the developer behind Brother in Arms have taken a surprise new direction with this new title, which looks entirely different from what is know about Brother in Arms series. Highly inspired by Inglorious Bastards.
  • TinTin – A tie-in with the upcoming movie, TinTin is a multi-character action adventure game with family friendly Move and Kinect Support.
  • Ghost Recon: Future Soldier – Long gameplay trailer revealing the most realistic shooting experience that we have come to know of in Ghost Recon.
  • Ghost Recon: Online – The already announced free to play version of Ghost Recon was shown during the demo presentation and amazingly enough, it looked similar to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
  • TrackMania 2 Canyon – New gameplay footage with a November release date.
  • Rabbids for Kinect – Augmented reality game with Rabbids appearing in your living room. Interesting concept but questionable gameplay and technology.
  • Just Dance 3 – Goes multi-platform with with Kinect and Move versions releasing alongside the Wii version on October 11.
  • Rocksmith – Rocksmith is Ubisoft’s new guitar simulation, learn guitar by playing this video game with a real controller.
  • Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 – Next game in the series as Ubisoft makes a franchise out of Your Shape.
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations – First Gameplay trailer of next instalment in Assassins Creed series.

That’s just about it for Ubisoft. Far Cry 3 and some strong gameplay trailer of Ubisoft’s flagship titles made the press conference worth watching.
