Patches are released to fix some minor issues related to the games. And these patches usually are in MBs but The Witcher 2 patch released yesterday is no different except for the fact that it is huge.
Almost equivalent to the size of the game (9GB). Wait a minute, does this mean that they have changed the whole game? No, they haven’t.
The actual files in the patch are approximately 15MB in size. But why the hell 9GB? Because the patch alters the entire 9GB archive of Witcher 2.
This way or that, you will have to take this sore sip if you want some fixes to be applied. What improvements do this patch bring to the game? The most important of them is the removal of DRM which should improve the game experience. Rest of the details you can find from the official site.
DRM removal is a good choice but if you have a slow connections speed, you are screwed for sure. So, make sure that you don’t go online till you have the courage to download the update as while it’s downloading, you won’t be able to play the game through steam. Another patch is inbound next week. Let’s just hope that it is not as big as this one.
