How to Manually Uninstall Shift 2: Unleashed From Your PC
Follow these steps to manually uninstall Shift 2 from your system, in case needed.
Step 1 – Backup the save data:
1. Click the Start button and select Documents
2. Right-click the SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED folder and select Cut
3. Right-click on your desktop and select Paste
4. To restore your Shift 2 save games, move this folder back into the Documents folder

Step 2 – Delete the game files (in the default location):
1. Click the Start button and select Computer
2. Select the Local Disk (C:) drive folder
3. Select the Program Files folder
4. Select the Electronic Arts folder
5. Right-click the SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED folder and select Delete

Warning: Changes to the registry can cause your computer to operate improperly, so please follow these instructions exactly as they are written.

Step 3 – Backing up the registry:
Perform the steps listed below to back-up the registry so that should something go wrong, you can restore your system back to a working state:
1. Click the Start button (Windows button on Windows Vista) on the Windows Taskbar.
2. Click Run.
3. Type regedit into the available text field, and click OK.
Note: If you are using Windows 2000/XP/Vista, click File, and select Export.
Note: If you are using Windows 95/98/ME, click Registry, then select Export Registry.
4. Select All under Export Range.
5. Type backup into the File name field, and click Save.

Step 4 – Delete the registry keys:
1. Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder
2. Expand the SOFTWARE folder
3. Expand the Electronic Arts folder
4. Right-click the SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED folder and select Delete
5. Collapse the Electronic Arts folder
6. Expand the Microsoft folder
7. Expand the Windows folder
8. Expand the CurrentVersion folder
9. Expand the Uninstall folder
10. Delete the following folder if it appears:

  • {E8C37E27-5205-4C8A-BECB-B00533045AAE}

Step 5 – Delete the uninstall files:
1. Click the Start button and select Computer
2. Select the Local Disk (C:) drive folder
3. Select the Program Files folder
4. Select Tools, then Folder Options, then View, then select “Show hidden files and folders”
5. Select the InstallShield Installation Information folder
6. Delete the following folder if it appears:

  • {E8C37E27-5205-4C8A-BECB-B00533045AAE}

Shift 2 Unleashed is now completely removed from your system.

3# How to De-Authorize Your System For Shift 2: Unleashed
Follow these steps to use the in-game deauthorization tool for Shift 2 Unleashed:

Windows Vista/Windows 7

  • Click on the Windows button on the Windows Taskbar.
  • Select All Programs.
  • Click on Games.
  • Click on Games Explorer.
  • Right-click on the Shift 2 Unleashed icon.
  • Click on Shift 2 Unleashed – Deauthorize this machine.

Windows XP

  • Click on the Start Menu on the Windows Taskbar.
  • Select All Programs
  • Find the Electronic Arts folder.
  • Roll over the Shift 2 Unleashed directory.
  • Click on the Shift 2 Unleashed – Deauthorize this machine option.

You will receive a message when the computer is successfully deauthorized. It doesn’t uninstall the game, but if you want authorize your system again, just relaunch the game while connected to internet. You can learn more about deauthorization tool from here.

4# Shift 2: Unleashed Stuttering Fix – FPS Drops
If you are experiencing stuttering issues while playing the game. Easy fix, just installed the latest video card drivers and the game would run smooth. If the problem still persists, make sure you have latest PhysX installed on your system.

5# Shift 2 unleashed PS3 G25 Steering Wheel Problems
Turn off your wireless controller and try again. It will fix any issue you are experiencing in getting your steering wheel to be recognized by the game.

6# Can’t Activate Shift 2: Unleashed
Few of the things you can try:

  • At the activation screen simply click “cancel” and the game may install without activating.
  • Install the EA download manager, and in the upper right click the gear and click >redeem game code. Here you can enter your code, and download the game rather than install it from disc.

7# Shift 2: Unleashed – No Motion Blur, Depth of Field, or Smoke
Even with all the settings set to high, you don’t see the visual effects present in the game.

You just have to go to the Car Lot and select the cars that were rewarded to you. Once the code is entered the VIP (Limited Edition) cars cost $0, so you just have to load them into your Garage from the Car Lot.

If you are experiencing connection problems when trying to connect to autolog in Shift 2: Unleashed, be patient, it may just be a server overload issue.

Update your video card drivers if you are experiencing slow menu, resolution issues, and stuttering all round while playing Shift 2: Unleashed.

11# Shift 2: Unleashed Fails on Start Up Process
You can follow the procedure below to resolve this issue:

  1. Make a note of the name of the subfolder under “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Solidshield” (copy the folder name into the clipboard).
  2. Rename “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Solidshield” ) – e.g. rename to “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Solidshield.1”.
  3. Create folder “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Solidshield”.
  4. Create a new subfolder under “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Solidshield” and rename it with the directory name noted at step 1 (paste the folder name from the clipboard).
  5. Launch Shift 2 and proceed through the activation process. The process should now be able to create files under “C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Solidshield”, complete the activation process successfully and launch the game.

10# Shift 2: Unleashed Crashes
If the game is frequently crashing, you may need to update graphics card drivers, DirectX and PhysX drivers so it works properly. If the problem still persists, upgrade the graphics driver firmware version to resolve the issue.

You may experience random freezes with the console version of the game especially when in-garage. Install the game on your HD; the number of freezes will minimize if the issue is not totally resolved.

Try forcing Vsync in your nVidia or ATI Catalyst control panel, also try dropping pre-rendered frames to – 0. If you are on ATI use Radeon Pro to do the job for you.
