DogFighter Errors, Bugs, Crashes and Fixes Guide

If you are playing DogFighter and come across any errors, crashes and bugs which need to be fixed. You can refer to this Guide for help, it contains the possible workarounds to fix the most common problems faced by people while playing DogFighter.

1# Connection Problems
If you are one of many who are annoyed by the continuous connection drops (or can’t even connect). Be patient as the issue is at Steam’s end and they are trying to fix it. Just wait for the update and you will hopefully be fine.

2# File Integrity Check Failed Error
You can try following two solutions to get over with this problem:

  • Exit Steam and delete two files named ‘ClientRegistery.blob’
    and ‘AppUpdateStats.blob’.
  • Then find your “DogFighterSteam.exe” file in “dogfighter\bin\x86_vc8” and right click on it. Click “Properties”, then click the compatability tab at the top. Make sure these settings are checked. Check (tick the box), “Run this program in compatibility mode” for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
    Check (click the box) “Run this program as an administrator”. then click “OK”.

3# Windows 7 Game Crash Issue
There are some user who are facing this problem specially Catalyst users. You can try the Hotfix for ATI 10.10 to resolve the issue. DirectX re-installation may also solve the problem.

4# PhysX Issue (Error)
You should uninstall your PhysX and then head to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\dogfighter\redist and then execute this file “PhysX_9.10.0129_SystemSoftware.exe”.

5# Graphics Issue and Lag
This is mostly due to Shadows in the game. So you can either turn them off. In order to that Add this command line in your target tab

-Graphics.shadows no

Or you can

  • Verify your Steam Game Cache
  • Turn Anti Aliasing to Application Controlled (or OFF) in your video card 3D settings

6# How to Configure Joystick/Controller
You can check our guide to configure the joystick. And if you don’t have Xbox 360 controller then you can use this emulator to configure your keys. Emulator should be kept running in order to make the changes work.

7# Stuck at Start-up Screen
You can force the game to windowed mode and then once it runs, you can shift it back to normal. For the windowed mode,

-Graphics.windowed yes
-Graphics.width 1024 -Graphics.height 768

#8 Black Screen on Changing Resolution
Head to \Steam\steamapps\common\dogfighter\env\config and delete the config file there. This should restore the default settings. You can also try #7 if this doesn’t work for you.

9# DogFighter ieGraphics.dll Error
This error is associated with Directx. So just like before head to Steam\SteamApps\common\dogfighter\redist\ and run the Directx setup.

10# Errror: Steam Must be Running
This problem occurs if you steam installed in any other drive than your windows drive which usually is C:/. So Installing Steam (if it’s not) in your windows drive may solve the problem.

11# CClient Failed to initialize and related Crashes
You can try #2 to solve the issue (Exit Steam and delete two files named ‘ClientRegistery.blob’ and ‘AppUpdateStats.blob’.)

12# DogFighter Bots Freeze at Start
It’s a bug that is supposed to be fixed in the upcoming updates. Currently all you can do is disconnect the server and start a new game.

13# DogFighter Distorted HUD Problem
Try this:

  • Load the game
  • Go to Graphics Options
  • Change the resolution to something different than your monitor
  • Click Apply
  • Choose your desired resolution now
  • Set the correct aspect ratio (even if its set to it already, just click on it again)
  • Click Apply

14# Blue Screen on Joining the Server
This problem seems to be related to DirectX. So updating your DirectX is your best shot.

Note. There are some other minor bugs which are being fixed periodically with updates. So make sure that your game is patched with latest update.
