Left4Dead 2 Weapon Guide

When it comes to killing zombies in masses,one should be careful in choosing weapons and one should know the potential of the weapon being used in a particular situation. Not all weapons are suitable for all scenarios. Some might help you in certain situations other might not and vice versa.

Weapon selection is important in any FPS game specially in the games like L4D where zombies never end.If you know about the potential of each weapon then you can use them wisely in different situations. Left4Dead 2 has got some new weapons which were not present in the Left4Dead.

Melee weapons are of special importance as they can be useful for short range combat with zombies.Let us have a look on all the weapons available in the game first and then we can decide that which weapon will be helpful in different situations:

Left4dead 2 Weapons Guide

P220 Pistol

This weapons is available to the survivors at the start of the game and has infinite ammo.You can fire this weapon at zombies without taking ammo into consideration.Survivors can fire this weapon even when they are down.

Damage:
Base: 36 Damage
Friendly Fire: 0/1/3/17 Damage

Range: 2500

Magnum Pistol(Deagle)

This weapon too has  unlimited ammo like the the above mentioned  pistol.You almost need 10 magazines of this weapon to kill tank.So using this gun against tank is not recommended.

Silenced Uzi

This is a new weapon introduced in L4d2.Uzi has a high fire rate and can fire complete magazine in almost 5 seconds.So one should be careful using this weapon as repeated reloading can be a problem specially when you are surrounded by zombies.

Base: 20 Damage
Friendly Fire: 0/1/2/9 Damage

Range: 2500
Range Modifier: 0.84

SMG

This gun is almost similar to above mentioned Uzi.These guns are not suitable for long range shooting but can be useful in medium range.You can kill a tank with when you are in it’s 7th magazine.As this gun has no silencer it’s sound can draw zombies’ attention towards you more than Uzi.(which has a silencer).

Same as of above mentioned weapon with minute Base damage difference of 5.

Shotgun

it’s another useful short range weapon.One bullet is sufficient to kill a zombie.Takes almost 3 magazines to kill a tank.So it can be useful against tanks but you will have to come closer to the tank as it’s a short range weapon and can’t do same damage when fired from long range.

Chrome Shotgun

Its somewhat more accurate than the Pump Shotgun and 4 magazines are required of this gun to kill a tank.Useful at short range but bad at long ranges.It also requires a pump after each reload.

Benelli M4 Super 90(Auto Shotgun)

It does not need pump after each fire.You can fire one complete magazine without in one turn.It is recommended that you reload your weapon before the magazine gets empty as empty magazine takes longer time for reload than semi used magazine.You can take down a tank with it’s 3 magazines.

SPAS 12(Combat Shotgun)

It’s a semi-automatic shotgun with 10 shells in each magazine.Fires one shell at a time and it’s pallet contains 9 pallets per shell.Like all other shotguns it is effective at short range but it’s effectiveness decreases at a great rate with increase in distance.

Hunting Rifle(Mini-14)

It’s an effective long range weapon but is not recommended at all for short range.It has a scope on it which facilitate killing zombies from far away.This weapon just can be used as a sniper weapon.You need 5 magazines of this weapon to take down a tank.

M16A2(Assault Rifle)

It’s a fully automatic long range weapon.You can kill infected with far more better accuracy than smgs from distance.It’s damage is also better than above mentioned sub machine guns.So this weapon is ideal for killing infected like hunters and boomers.4 magazines are required to kill a tank by this weapon.

AK-47

I don’t think that this gun needs any introduction as it has become the most basic gun in all the fps games.It was not included in L4d though but they decided to introduce it in L4d2.It’s an effective long range weapon with a descent damage and medium fire rate.

Specially designed for long range shooting,this weapon can be handy against special infected like tank,hunter and boomer etc.It’s one shot can take down a normal zombie.This weapon is almost useless in short range.You need it’s 3 magazines to take down a tank.

This weapon is almost same as the one is Counter- Strike.One magazine contains 50 rounds.Scopeless fire rate is more than the scoped one.Can be a useful weapon when one needs to conserve ammo.

FN SCAR(Combat Rifle)

It’s an automatic rifle which fires i 3 bursts.Like other assault rifles this weapon is also useful for assaulting through zombies.60 bullets are present per magazine which means that u can fire it 20 times as one fire will release 3 bullets together.

Important:
These stats are mentioned here for you to have an idea about the potential of the guns in L4d2.These might not be accurate but can still be helpful in choosing weapons in different situations.

Now lets have a look on melee weapons included in L4d2.

These melee weapons are equally important and lethal for normal zombies.Their length can be an important  factor for choosing their effectiveness.One should not try to use them against Tanks and Hunters etc.
