“10th Splinter Cell Game On The Horizon,” GameStop Listing

Ever since the release of Splinter Cell Blacklist, fans have been waiting for the return of Sam Fisher and now, it might finally be time. For years, we saw leaks and reports, even retailer listings but nothing ever as interesting as the listing we have for you today.

According to a new GameStop listing, “10th release is on the Horizon.” The retailer posted the listing for a Splinter Cell Goggle Replica with a revealing description.

For the first time since the introduction of Splinter Cell in 2002, after nine top-selling AAA+ titles, and with the 10th release on the horizon, this is your first chance to own Sam Fisher’s signature Ultra High-Frequency Sonar Goggles.

The Return of Sam Fisher and Splinter Cell

The return of Sam Fisher in a new Splinter Cell game has been hinted at for the longest of times. The super-soldier made an appearance on Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Wildlands with the original voice actor, Micheal Ironside.

His appearance in Wildlands and the return of Ironside was a major hint at the time that Ironside is not just back for a single mission in Wildlands. It was speculated that there is more to his return. Moreover, multiple retailers listed a new Splinter Cell game earlier this year but later, all of the listings were removed.

Ubisoft CEO said that the game will release at the right time, is this the right time? It might not be the right time for release but an announcement can’t be ruled out.

At this point, if we see another game in the series we can be sure that it is a next-gen venture. Current-gen consoles are close to the end of their lifecycles but of course, they still have a huge install base. Ubisoft would want to make this a cross-gen game for sure. Let’s see how it plays out. For now, why don’t we go back to Blacklist to prepare for the return of Sam Fisher? The game is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
