Everyone knows by now that a working console hack for MW2 is out, and you can tweak a lot of stuff using the amazing dev console. But if you are having hard time enabling console to tweak the game settings of Modern Warfare 2, you can also do the same without using console.
All you need is to edit the Config_MP.cfg file found here:
"C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Activision\Modern Warfare 2\Players\config_mp.cfg"
Open the file with any text editor, find the setting you want to tweak and edit it to your liking. Remember all the config tweaks that worked in Call of Duty 4 should also work in Modern Warfare 2 as both the games have been developed on the same engine.
Lets say you want to edit FOV, and set it to your liking. All you need to do is find “seta cg_fov “, edit it to your liking, save your “config_mp.cfg” and you are done.

FYI, there is no “seta cg_fov 65″ in the mp_config file unfortunately.
Fortunately there is seta cg_fov “80″ so change it to your liking
and the whole cg_fov thingy is as generic example.
Does this work for the latest patch?
FYI Insert those into your config_mp they do work, even though you dont see them there in the stock config_mp.
MaxFps is also a command that you can insert that isnt listed and will work.
