XtremeGear Xtreme Cooler HP-1216 CPU Cooling System

Like Black Mamba Venom System and Black Pearl, CyberPower has built some pretty lustrous computers as equipped with all the latest hardware, cases and cooling systems. Cooling systems being one of the many optional parts of the CyberPower built computers have, they offer quite a few reputable coolers in their choices already but now Cyber Power along with their sister company XtremeGear have developed a new product for air cooling solutions to be placed inside these “dream systems”. XtremeGear has introduced innovative Xtreme Cooler HP-1216 air cooling solution to be added to CyberPower’s lineup.
Specifications and Pricing
46 aluminum fins are used in HP-1216. In the arrangement, these fins are double stamped to create dimples and bumps on both sides of each individual fin. These fins surround five heat pipes that come into direct contact with the CPU and aligned in two “V” shaped configurations as they pass through the fins. Once the heat has gotten into the fins from the heat pipe transfer, it’s taken down to the fan to keep up with the load the cooler is taking from the processor.
HP-1216 contains a clear 120mm blue LED 78.4 CFM fan. XtremeGear has introduced controller system also allowing you to keep the performance level where u want when needed, and will also allow you to run the cooler at near inaudible levels. The use of this controller will bring down the 2200 RPM, 78.4 CFM and the 37 DBA rating of the fan to your specific needs. The major plus to this cooler is that it’s built ready to run on any socket from AMD AM2 and up, as well as both LGA775 and i7.
Xtreme Gear Xtreme Cooler HP-1216 will be available at Cyberpowerpc.com for US consumers and Cyberpowerpc.co.uk for UK.
HP-1216 will be released on 1st of July, ready to go into a CyberPower PC on July the 1st and will have a price of $29 U.S dollars.

XtremeGear has incorporated a bend on the entire side edge of the fins allowing the air to be forced all the way through the cooler without any loss out the sides and acts as a spacer, also stabilizing the outer edges of the fins.

HP-1216 six 8mm diameter copper heat pipes make direct contact with the CPU. Those pipes are surrounded by a multi-functional aluminum spacer plate. plate holds the heat pipes in proper alignment, are drilled and tapped to accept the universal mounting plate and houses a 50 finned pre-cooler. The heat pipes are bent into a “v” shaped configuration; then the 46 aluminum fins are pressed into place.
The fins of the HP-1216 are stamped with dimples, increasing performance of the fins efficiency to get the heat into the stream of air. The center of each fin is also stamped with the XtremeGear logo.
You can see that the sides of the base protrude past the bottom edges of the mounting brace. The screw is more to hold the plate in place during transport, as the plate is supported by the lip in the base as tension is applied when mounting the cooler to the motherboard.
A seven bladed fan, with bright blue LED’s, offers 78.4 CFM at around 2200RPM and all this at 37 DBA max. This fan is powered with a 3-pin motherboard connector, so no PWM features.

Accessories: Standing alone at the top is the universal back plate for the HP-1216, plastic coated on the reverse side which isolates it from any motherboard grounding. looking closely at the holes in the plate, each contain a key way; these key ways accept the long bolts on the left that have a key at the head to lock then into place. Also Under the mounting bolts are the thumb screws used at the top to tension the cooler into place.
Test Results: after various temperature tests the results were:
HP-1216 has a maximum temperature of 57.9 ° Celsius, seeing the results we can easily conclude that XtremeGear has done quite a good job in their design and implementation of a good partnering fan.

Sony Reveals Specs of PSP Go! At E3 Floor

Sony revealed specs of its new handheld entertainment system stating it has got more then just a Bluetooth. This new hand held entertainment system is specially designed for people who like downloading on the go.
Now you got two choices either buy already available in the market PSP-3000 or wait for PSP go to be released on October 1 in US, Europe and Asian countries excluding japan for $249. My japanese pals will have it november 1 for 26800 yen including taxes. The company says with both the PSP’s in the market the consumers will have the choice to buy the one that suits their needs.
PSP Go replaces the UMD drive with a 16gb of flash memory to store any digital entertainment related content, offering consumers unlimited options through Playstation network.
PSP Go is smaller and lighter then its predecessors and with the size small enough to fit in your pocket, it can be taken anywhere.
PSP Go will be available in two colors Piano Black and Pearl White which are the most demanded colors since the launch of PSP systems.
In addition to accessing Playstation store directly from PSP via built in wireless lan, the players will be able to connect it through Playstation 3 network and through PC’s using Media Go, a new application by sony.
Media Go will enable users to access and download entertainment content for Playstation store via their PC’s as well as easily manage PSP content on their PC’s. This easy to use software application will be available in a cd rom bundled with PSP Go.
Also coming to PSP is a new music application “Sensme” featuring music recommendations and will be available on PSP as a download when it is released this fall.
Other features of PSP Go include Easy Sliding control panel, Original applications, Game Sleep function, BlueTooth function, and Peripheral Line up.
Headphones and Headsets supporting A2DP, HSP, AVRCP profiles can be used on PSP go.
PS3 wireless controller can be used on PSP Go but to register this wireless controller, PS3 will be needed. Some features of the PS3 wireless controller may not work on PSP Go.
New peripherals include the release of Cradle (PSP-n340) *7 which will enable psp users to enjoy watching videos and listen to songs while they are charging the batteries of their PSP GO, also included in the peripheral line up are the Video out port cables that will enable psp go users to enjoy the games and video on their home TV’s.

Sony Updates PlayStation 3 Firmware to V2.76

Sony has just released the Playstation 3 Firmware update which initially was expected to be released soon but as we always say soon is a word which has no limits. Any way this Playstation firmware V2.76 will improve the Playback quality of Ps3 powered games and Softwares, which obviously is good thing. You dont want to get stuck while you had just started enjoying the game. So download this one as early as possible, it’s better to download right now then being prompted to download when you start playing your favourite game.

What is SLI Technology ? A Brief Introduction

SLI technology by nVidia was the most anticipated technological change on PC front. Scalable Link Interface or SLI is a technology that lets user use two graphic cards to render a same image. It basically divides the work between two graphic cards by having each render different parts of the same image. SLI technology gives users the freedom to use two different GPU’s for the same output.Lets say you are playing GTA 4 at 1200 resolution, one card will render 600 lines of it and other would render the remaining 600, the division of labor can differ.
You can use a special PCI express SLI ready motherboard to use the processing power of two different graphic cards on the same system.The implementation of this technology use PCI bus to share date between the cards, and uses varying rendering modes depending on which games we are playing.

Rendering Via SLI Configuration
nVidia has two main methods of rendering under SLI configuration, AFR or Alternate Frame Rendering and SFR or Split Frame Rendering.
AFR is an alternate frame rendering for example card 1 renders frame 24 card 2 will render frame 25, card one renders frame 26 card 2 will render fame 27 and so on. This is the preferred method of rendering under SLI configuration is it allows max performance benefits going from single card to dual cards.
The other rendering mode SFR works by splitting the workload of each individual frame between two graphic cards. Each card works its part then sends the result from secondary card back to primary card and then combining it for the output on the screen. This mode of rendering complicates the work a bit as it requires more channels to show the final output as compared to AFR so performance benefits may not be the same. To minimize this nVidia drivers do the dirty work of balancing the workload between the GPU’s and smoothing the timeframe in which each card renders its part by bringing them as close together as possible.
SFR might seem like not so wanted rendering mode but its important to know that some games work better in Split frame rendering mode and others work better in Alternate frame rendering mode. if you run a game in not so wanted mode for the game it may cause crashes of the game or visual artifacts. So nVidia drivers choose appropriate modes for different game to function them correctly.And there are times when SLI integration instead of increasing the performance rather decreases it.

Well we all know Intel’s reputation in computer chip manufacturing market.They have been enjoying a good reputation for a long time now. Digitimes has revealed that Intel is planning to lower the CPU prices by 20% next month.Now if you see the chart their,it will be evident that the prices are cut short from dual core to quad.News is pleasant ofcourse as the prices of budget PC’s will also go down, But I was wondering why are they lowering these prices again?The question at once appears to be foolish and the simple answer to it is probably they are launching new level technology(Latest versions of Corei7 CPUs) which is quite expensive at the moment.Actually the computer chip technology has been progressing rapidly since the last two years and Intel has been facing a fierce competition from the rival companies like AMD.This lowering(rapid lowering i will refer) might be some sense of un-easiness or some type of long term plans. And what I have heard is that couple of industry experst are already saying that Amd will have better times then Intel in near future. But again these are only perdictions, and currently Intel is stronger and the odds in the present can not go against them. So lets wait and see.Anyway I am planning to buy another gaming pc as the prices are going down now.You never know what happens next.I will try to be in touch with the tussel going on between the two great giants.
