If that is not enough, NeuroSky, a new technology startup specializing in technology to measure brainwaves, has hinted on a far superior technology beyond the scoop of motion sensing controls, by tapping into the power of brain.

Here is what NeuroSky chief Stanley Yang had to say about this upcoming technology.

“We can simulate ‘The Force’ in a game and you can bend things or lift things by thinking,” NeuroSky chief executive Stanley Yang said, referring to telepathic powers used by Jedi knights in “Star Wars” films and books.
“For games with magic or sorcery or where The Force is the star, if you use your brain or thoughts it is more magical.”

Yes, Mr Yang, We do like magical powers and Star Wars, but you should also consider the fact that we don’t like improper responses from our gadgets. That said, I appreciate your effort to enable me to Force Kill Vader using my brain, oh Yeah!

NeuroSky was founded by a group of sceintists five years ago in Silicon Valley city of San Jose. NeuroSky is the World leader in bringing bio sensing technology to consumer market with products like Mattel MindFlux toy and Force Trainer Video Game.

So they are a bunch of highly recommended folks when it comes to bio-sensing. But we are more into gaming and this is very new concept for me so I will hold my thoughts till you show me actual prototype of the technology in action in Star Wars Force Unleashed II. Yes, you got time.

Explaining the change of heart this year, NeuroSky marketing vice president David Westendorf said “Our focus this year is on gaming, From the smallest of developers all the way to the biggest console and software companies.”

NeuroSky demonstrated a headset with a single sensor pressing against the players forehead to read brainwaves. This sensor measures how intensely the player is focusing on the object or how relaxed he is, as well as their eye blinks. These measured signals were translated into on screen commands in video games.

While demonstrating this phenomenon, an AFP correspondent lifted a virtual car by relaxing and then set it on fire by focusing on it in “NeuroBoy”, NeuroSky’s demonstration game for this technology.

Why can’t we just imagine the car on fire to blow it ? why we have to focus, why can’t we relax and think of blowing a car ? OK! this is confusing.

David Westendorf commented “It is like willing it to explode,” said NeuroSky manager Johnny Liu. “Like I am filling it up with Chi. It is very precise.”

“Video game makers could use feedback regarding how relaxed players are to reward them with better accuracy for “steady hands” in shooter games” says Westendorf.

“How it gets woven into the gaming experience is where the creativity comes into play,” Westendorf said. “It adds a dimension in the same way Move, Wii and Kinect have brought the body into it we are bringing the brain into it.”

Yes, we are fine with bringing the brain into it only if, it responds exactly to our brain thoughts, which is my friend, going to be very difficult task for you.

If their product is a hit by chance, they would be making lot of cash, as they develop all technology parts from chips to actual product in house.

Executives of NeuroSky hinted that they have already contacted small and large software developers and hardware manufacturers regarding this technology but they can’t disclose the details about that.

“If you look at all the technology invented so far by humans, all the gadgets we have require the human to conform to the technology,”

Yang said, referring to typing, toggles, buttons, switches and dials.

“The vision is to use bio-sensors to have the machines conform to humans.”

My question is, Will the bio-sensors capable enough to conform machines to humans ? Will they be efficient enough to really react to my thoughts ?  Will the brainwaves transmitted by billions of neurons in my brain be detected by high tech advanced gadget and effectively translated into on screen commands, the way it was meant to be ?.  What are your thoughts about it ?.

Here is a simple step by step guide to run and optimize BitTorrents speed with a little bit of tweaking. Latest version of the client is almost similar to uTorrent with its options panel completely same as uTorrent.

Step 1|Download & Install
You can download the client from multiple locations. I will recommend downloading it from their official site as it will be the latest version of the client.

Step 2|Speed Guide Test
At the end of installation, a window will pop up saying “Speed Guide”. Now this will help you in automatically adjusting your connection for optimal download speed.

If this window does not pop up at the end of the setup, you can open it manually from the main interface in the “Preferences” tab. Run the speed test at the given link.

You must close all the other applications using internet. After the test your upload and download speeds will be adjusted automatically according to your connection speed.

Step 3|Choose Appropriate Port
After the test has been completed, the same window (Speed Test), check that if the selected port is forwarded or not. Click the tab in front of the selected port, if the port is not forward then you must open it to get optimum speed.

You can also change this port as some ISP’s block some torrent ports by default to conserve the bandwidth consumption.In order to change the selected port, navigate to Options>>Preferences>>Connection and here you can change the default port and choose any random port.
It is better to choose the port that has not been used by any other program.

Step 4|Manual Adjustment of Bandwidth
If you somehow couldn’t complete the automatic speed test in the second step then you can change these settings manually. Head to Options>> Preferences>>Bandwidth and adjust your max download and upload speeds.

Mark it automatically if its not,  this will enable the client to choose the optimum download and upload speeds during download. Now change Max Global Upload Speed” to the 10 percent of your connection’s upload speed in kB/s.

You can get your connection’s upload speed by dividing the Speed test results by 8. Actually the results shown after any speed test is in kb/s not in kB/s(Letter “b” is important as 1kB=8kbs).

Step 5|Port Forwarding and Firewall Settings
You should make sure that your firewall is not blocking the torrent application. If the port forwarding test is positive during above step, you don’t need to do anything else in this step. If you router is blocking the selected port (Random or default), you must open them for stable and optimum download/upload speeds.

Step 1| Download
First things first,download the client and install it on your hard drive.You can check out their official website for the download and it is totally free.

Step 2| Installation
Installation is simple, just a few clicks on “Next” button and you will be done with the installation.You can choose any drive to install in, C:/ is by default.

Step 3| Configuration Menu
Now that you have downloaded and installed the client successfully,lets move on to the important part i.e the client configuration for maximum efficiency.Open the client either from “Start Menu’ or the destination folder.Now go to the “Tools” tab and go to “Options”. Here you need to do the following changes.

Step 4|Select the Mode
First of all there is a Mode to select from at the top. It’s beginner by default, change it to Advanced.

Step 5| Startup & Shutdown
In this tab you can adjust self explanatory settings like whether you want to shutdown your machine when the download is complete or not etc.Nothing to do with the torrent speed.

Step 6| Choose the Appropriate Listen Port
This is the most crucial step, Click the “Connection” tab in “Options” and choose the appropriate port. How would you know that what port is good for you? It’s simple,Vuze recommend you to choose ports from “49160–65534″ range so you can choose any in the range.

You can always check the ports that have been blocked or in use already by any other client so that you may take any port that is free.To check for the free ports write “NETSTAT -A” in the “cmd” command prompt and you will be shown the list of ports being used.

Step 7| Port Forwarding
After you have selected the appropriate listen port,you should make sure that these ports are forward and not blocked by your firewall.You can consult  portforward.com if you don’t have any experience of port forwarding.Make sure that you forward both TCP and UDP ports.

Step 8| Adjust Upload Speed
Then there is “Transfer” tab.Choose the appropriate upload speed here.Your upload speed should not exceed your connection uploading speed.You can change it if you want the data to be uploaded fast for the fast download in return.

Step 9| Choose the Storage Directory
You can change the torrent storage directory using the “Files” tab.Choose the drive and directory where you want to store your downloaded files and the torrent files.By default it is the directory you installed Vuze in.

Step 10| IP Filtering
Well,this option can be useful in banning and blocking bad asses. Most of the options in this tab are self explanatory except of few.”Block peers whose discarded data/good ratios exceeds” is 5.0 by default.

It means that when a certain IP has uploaded 5 times more bad data than the good than it will be banned, leave next two settings as such. Now the Auto loading option is quite helpful as you can upload a list of IP’s manually you think are punks. Note them on any text editor(notpad is recommended) and upload them using Auto loading feature.

Vuze will block all these IP’s.You can add more IP’s to the list and reset them later on by navigating to Tools>>IP Filters.

Step 11| Adjust the Simultaneous Downloads
Skipping all other tabs,head towards the tab saying “Queue”.Here you can adjust the no of  simultaneous downloads.You can change them as you desire. By default they are 4 which is a suitable number as more torrents will exhaust your connection unless you have some ultra high connection speed and bandwidth.

Like other torrents clients,you need to customize a bit to snap maximum performance out of it depending upon your connection speed.Following tutorial is a step wise guide to demonstrate some tweaks that will surely help you in improving it’s performance.

Step 1| Download & Install
You can download the client from multiple locations but I will recommend that you download the latest version form their official site.Follow some simple steps and the client will be installed on your drive.You can choose any drive to install it.

Step 2| Connection Settings
After installation, navigate to “Tools” at the top, and then choose “Options”.You can also navigate directly to the destination by pressing “Ctrl+P”.Now in connection settings, first thing you should do is adjust the Global upload and download speed.You should choose the upload speed that is maximum 90% of your connection upload speed.

More than that will be exhaustive for your connection and your browsing will get very slow while downloading torrents with low seeders.Next you should select an appropriate listen port.Many ISP’s nowadays block the default ports of famous torrent clients to save the bandwidth consumption, so choose a random port.

Important:
Whatever port you choose, it must be forward to have maximum speed using this client.If the respected port is not opened,you download speed will be affected greatly.Green light at the bottom right of main interface will indicate that your respective listen port is open.Yellow light or Grey one indicates that your router is blocking the ports.You can consult portforward.com for more details in this respect.

Once you have selected and opened the respected port,you should keep rest of the settings as such.

Step 3| Task Menu
The click the task button, and you will see various options to regulate your torrent tasks.You can select the simultaneous task limit which is 10 by default.More tasks will overload your connection and all tasks will be affected.I will recommend that you don’t do more than 5 simultaneous downloads.

Step 4| Integration
Now head straight to the Integration tab.Here you can integrate Bitcomet with famous browsers like Firefox and IE.You can choose Bitcomet as your default client for torrent and non torrent downloads.You need to add some extensions to integrate it successfully.Resumeable downloads will be resumed from the last disconnection.

Step 5| Half-Open Limit
I won’t recommend that you change this default(10) limit until you get the massage of being reaching the half-open limit.Change the limit to 50 or 100 and reboot the system to increase the download speed.

Step 6| Register yourself
Last but not the least, register yourself  with them and let your client be logged in during downloads.More you download,more will be your reputation and ultimately you will experience better results.This step is optional but can be useful as it did work for me.
