Sony CES 2018 Trailer Suggests Ghost of Tsushima Will Launch In 2018

Ghost of Tsushima was announced at Paris Games Week along with other PS4 exclusives and since then Sucker Punch fans are eager to know more about the game.

Ghost of Tsushima was announced back at Paris Games Week along with other PS4 exclusives and since then Sucker Punch fans are eager to know more about the game and its release date and while the developer has not revealed Ghost of Tsushima release date but it seems like the game might launch in 2018.

The hint that Ghost of Tsushima release date might be 2018 comes from Sony’s latest CES 2018 trailer in which Sony showcased games, movies, and hardware which are to launch in 2018. Interestingly the trailer also includes Ghost of Tsushima which might indicate that the game might launch in 2018.

Ghost of Tsushima’s launch in 2018 also makes sense since the game has been in development for over 3 years at Suck Punch.

According to PlayStation Worldwide Studios SVP Michael Denny, Sucker Punch already has a playable version of Ghost of Tsushima up and running. This was revealed back in November, so we expect the game to launch in 2018.

Furthermore, Michael Denny added that the game was announced at the right time. According to Denny, in the past, they have announced the games too early and there is already a playable version of Ghost of Tsushima.

In the past, I think it’s fair to say sometimes we announced games too early. And this is such a great project for Sucker Punch. It’s a game they’ve always really wanted to make themselves. And I think it’s the right time to announce that, and they’ve been working on that game for a long time now. There is great [playable version of the game] already. So we’re just excited to let everybody know about it.

Ghost of Tsushima is a PlayStation exclusive in development at Sucker Punch and is set in medieval Japan and no release window has been announced for the game.

The game will follow the adventures of a Samurai after the Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, Japan, and starts to conquer the local population by wreaking havoc.
