The cards from AMDs VEGA line up haven’t been officially released but certain benchmarks and comparison stats are floating on the internet claiming that AMDs Vega 64 and Vega 56 have outperformed NVIDIA Geforce 1070 and GTX the 1080s.

It’s a well-known fact that AMDs graphic cards prove really fruitful for crypto currency miners. Because they perform really good in those methods. Although this is a bad news for gamers because of the shortage of supplies and increased demands, causing price hikes. Recently Vega 64s mining benchmarks were released on the internet and the numbers were a shocking.

To give you an idea of the performance Vega 64 performs approx 200% faster than GTX 1080 on currency mining figures. That shows the computational power this beefy GPU has.

Similarly, 3DMark Fire Strike scores were registered on the website with a comparison between GTX 1080 and Vega 64 , the results were no surprise as the Vega 64 score 22589 paid with an i7-6700K where as the GTX 1080 scored 22585.

Although there were multiple results of GTX 1080 ranging from 21315 to 22202. None seem to beat the performance of Vega 64.

Similarly, a website claimed that they have received the Vega 56 versus Geforce 1070 benchmarks from internal sources at AMD.

According to them, both cards were tested on a corei7-7700K @ 4.2GHz with 16GBs of DDR4 RAM @ 3000MHz on Windows 10.

All games were tested on ultra settings with 4x MSAA. 1440p resolution and these were the results:

  • Battlefield 1: 95.4FPS (GTX 1070: 72.2FPS)
  • Civilization 6: 85.1FPS (GTX 1070: 72.2FPS)
  • DOOM: 101.2FPS (GTX 1070: 84.6FPS)
  • COD:IW: 99.9FPS (GTX 1070: 92.1FPS)

If the sources for these benchmarks are true then Vega 56 is definitely a good buy! Since the performance difference is 20-30% for a similar price. With modern features like Rapid pack maths, High Bandwidth memory 2.0 , 2048 bit lane the Vega line up sure seems promising for gamers.
