Hellblade Errors, Crashes Workarounds Guide to help you fix some of the most commonly occurring errors in the game including FatalError, FOV fix, and more.

Hellblade Errors, Crashes Workarounds Guide to help you fix some of the most commonly occurring errors in the game. Developed by Ninja Theory, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is now available on Steam, GOG, & Playstation 4. From what we’ve seen so far, the game runs fairly good for a majority of PC gamers but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have its share of issues.

On the positive side, the game is developed on Unreal Engine, which means that tweaking the game’s ‘.ini’ files is fairly straightforward. Another thing that you need to keep in mind is that the game just launched & you can expect patches headed your way which should iron out some of the game’s existing issues. Finally, I’d also recommend checking out the game’s minimum system requirements before going for a purchase.

Hellblade Errors, Crashes Workarounds Guide

In our Hellblade Errors, Crashes Workarounds Guide, we’ve listed some of the most commonly occurring errors & possible workarounds to fix them.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice System Requirements

Do note that the system requirements mentioned below are for playing the game on 1280 x 720 resolution.

  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • OS: Windows 7, 8, 10
  • Storage: 30 GB Available Space
  • Processor: Intel i5 3570K / AMD FX-8350
  • Graphics: GTX 770 with 2GB VRAM / Radeon R9 280X 3GB

Hellblade #1 – Game Doesn’t Start, LowLevelFatalError

You’ll sometimes fail to start the game with an error message reading ‘LowLevelFatalError’. You can usually fix this error by updating your device drivers, most importantly GPU. Once done, try to run the game in either Fullscreen or Windowed Mode. We also suggest verifying the integrity of the game files to see if it helps.

Hellblade #2 – Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Runtime Required

This is a fairly common error message that you might come across in multiple games. I recommend that you turn on Windows Update & try to install Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 by heading over to the link.

Hellblade #3 – Save Game Deleted

Okay, so the first thing that you need to know is that the game automatically deletes your progress if you die a total of seven times. It’s basically a part of the entire Hellblade experience & you must bear with it. However, you’re free to make a backup every ‘x’ minutes. Those of you who wish to backup your save file can find it by heading over to the following directory:

C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Local\HellbladeGame

Hellblade #4 – Changing Language

Some of you might’ve noticed that the Steam version of the game doesn’t allow language change & forces you to use your PC’s local language. In order to change the language, you need to head over to the following directory:

C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Local\HellbladeGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini

After opening up the file, find ‘[Internationalization]’ & change your language by editing Culture=en_US>

Hellblade #5 – FOV Fix

It goes without saying that the game has low FOV that can definitely prove troublesome for some players. Since playing with low FOV can cause motion sickness to some players, knowing a way to increase it is important. Thanks to Unreal Engine, changing these things is fairly simple. In order to fix Hellblade low FOV, head to the following directory:

C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Local\HellbladeGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Once there, you need to paste the following in the ‘Engine.ini’

  • [/script/engine.localplayer]
  • AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV

Once done, you need to save the file & check read-only to improve the FOV while in the game.

Hellblade #6 – Xbox One Controller Problems

Some players are reporting that the right analogue stick doesn’t work as camera control along with d-pad not responding. In order to fix this issue, the first thing that you need to do is to disable ‘Xbox Controller Configuration Support’ in Steam. In order to find the setting, head over to the following directory:

Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings > Xbox Configuration Support

Hellblade #7 – Limiting FPS

Those of you who are playing the game on a 144 Hz or 75 Hz monitor & are frustrated by a lack of configurable variables, you can change it with relative ease. The first thing that you need to do is to head over to the following directory:

C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Local\HellbladeGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Once there, you need to open up ‘GameUserSettings.ini’ & find the line called ‘FrameRateLimit’. Once done, change it to something like ‘FrameRateLimit=60.0000’ followed by saving the file.
