The first AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X benchmarks are in and it seems that when it comes to gaming, Ryzen Threadripper 1950X does not have much to offer as compared to the mainstream AMD Ryzen CPUs. But then again, that is not surprising keeping in mind games do not really use more than 4 cores.

We talked about this issue in the gaming comparison between AMD Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7. Ryzen Threadripper 1950X benchmarks reveal that the non-gaming performance is way better than the mainstream CPUs and that is because of the additional threads and cores that non-gaming applications are able to use.

When it comes to Fire Strike Ultra, and Time Spy, the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X was able to beat the X370 and the Z270 platforms. It did fell short compared to the X299 platform. Keeping in mind the money that you are paying for the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X it is worth looking into.
