Kingdom Hearts 3 was finally revealed at Disney’s D23 event and fans got the first look at the game with a new trailer. The game is currently planned to release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 but, the developers have hinted that the game could also come out for Nintendo Switch.

Speaking with IGN, game director Tetsuya Nomura hinted that Kingdom Hearts 3 could come to Nintendo Switch. He added that while the team is not ruling out the possibility of the game coming to Switch but, they are currently focusing on Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game.

The Nintendo Switch is definitely a very interesting piece of hardware, but if we lightly say, ‘Oh yeah, we’ll be on the Nintendo Switch,’ I’m sure people will come back and say, ‘But what about the PS4 and Xbox One? We want them out first. Don’t focus on other platforms,’So for now, we want to focus on what platforms we’ve already announced we’re going to be releasing Kingdom Hearts III on. And so after, perhaps, maybe we can start thinking about other possibilities.

While Kingdom Hearts 3 is not yet confirmed for Switch but, there are other third-party games, like WWE 2K18 and FIFA 18, will release for the hybrid console this fall. Also, developers have assured that WWE 2K18 for Switch will not be based on last-gen consoles as FIFA 18 will be.

The Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 will be developed on a different game engine from the PS4, Xbox One, and PC version as EA has revealed that Frostbite engine will be exclusive to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 versions.

Also, earlier this year producer Tetsuya Nomura said that character customization might be featured in Kingdom Hearts 3 but it is not a priority.
