FIFA 18 has been revealed and this time the game will feature Cristiano Ronaldo as its cover star. EA has confirmed that FIFA 18 will launch for Nintendo Switch along with PC and current gen consoles. However, It seems that the Nintendo Switch version of the game will not feature the game’s singleplayer mode and will also feature a different game engine.

The Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 will be developed on a different game engine from the PS4, Xbox One, and PC version as EA has revealed that Frostbite engine will be exclusive to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 versions. This indicates that the Switch version of the game will be developed using the Ignite Engine.

This also gives credibility to the rumor that Switch version of the FIFA 18 will be a port of Xbox 360 and PlayStaiton 3 versions. According to the report, FIFA for Nintendo Switch will be based on the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 version of the game.

Furthermore, the single-player mode, The Journey: Hunter Returns, will also be exclusive to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version and will not be included in Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18. This indicates that the single-player mode is just too demanding.

In related news, Cristiano Ronaldo is the cover star for the upcoming FIFA game and according to analysts, Ronaldo could boost the sales for the upcoming title. According to Joost van Dreunen, CEO of market researcher SuperData, a popular player as a cover star can boost the sales for the title up to 10%.

Depending on the popularity of a player, a famous athlete can help improve sales by about 10 percent. Suffice to say that signing an athlete is critical, especially because the audience for sports games tends to be more-or-less stable.

FIFA 18 is a sports game in development at EA for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
