PlayStation Cracks Through Microsoft’s Exclusive Deal With EA for FIFA 18
For the first time, PlayStation is getting all the content Xbox users are used to enjoy in FIFA games. FIFA 18 was just announced with a short trailer and details are starting to surface. According to EA, there is no longer any partnership with Microsoft for exclusive content for Xbox One and Xbox 360. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 pro users will be able to enjoy Legends, a feature that’s been exclusive to Xbox platforms.
EA is removing the Legends feature from the Ultimate Team and have replaced it with “Icons.” The very first Icon to arrive in FIFA 18 is none-other than Brazilian Ronaldo, a legend from Real Madrid. More Icons will be announced for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions of the game. EA will share more about this feature and more in detail at EA PLAY.
Explosive pace, lethal finishing and dazzling skill. Legendary Brazilian Striker and two-time FIFA World Cup winner Ronaldo Nazário headlines FUT ICONS.

The change to Legends gives weight to a previous report which claimed that Sony has exclusive rights to FIFA 18’s marketing. FIFA 18 will be one of the leading titles at E3 2017 as well as EA PLAY. While the report is unconfirmed, it is highly likely to be true. Sony has been pulling in exclusive deals with publishers including Activision for Call of Duty and Destiny 2. Ubisoft has also partnered with Sony and PlayStation for exclusive Far Cry 5 content and marketing.
FIFA 18 is releasing on September 29 and EA Access and Origin Access members can enjoy a 10-hour trial on Xbox One/PC starting September 21.
