Tekken 7 Devil Jin Tips

Tekken 7 Devil Jin Tips to help you learn everything you need to know about playing as Devil Jin, strategies, frame data, and custom combos. Devil Jin in Tekken 7 has exceptional mobility, incredible space control, confusing mix-ups, and one of the highest damage outputs in the game. However, similar to other Mishima characters in the game, his learning curve is steep and you cannot just pick him up and expect to do well. Moreover, I think his difficulty curve is also his weakness since he is abysmal in the hand of bad even average players.

DJ’s story in Tekken 7 starts right after story of Tekken 6 during which Jin defeated Azazel followed by U.N. capturing him. However, he manages to escape and finds himself in Middle East. After a while, he meets a certain someone and the story continues.

In our Tekken 7 Devil Jin Tips Guide, we have detailed everything you need to know about playing as Devil Jin, his custom combos, frame data, and more.

Tekken 7 Devil Jin Strategy Guide

Playing as Devil Jin

Devil first made his appearance in Tekken 5. Among all the Mishima in the game, Devil Jin is arguably the most balanced. His damage output is definitely less than Kazuya and he does not rely on CHs as much as Heihachi. However, he does have incredible pokes and good low attacks. Like other Mishima characters in the game, he has access to the iconic EWGF, wavedash to close the gap, strong jab hit-confirms, and good punishing attacks.

His poking game is strong as he can combine hard-hitting low attacks such as d + 4 and d/b + 2 with good mid poke such as b + 4. Other than this, you need to utilize his wavedash and EWGF to set-up combos and harass.

Coming to his combo potential, you must learn to execute his EWGF if you want to land high damage combos. Unlike characters like Leo, Marshall Law, Alisa, etc., he does not have a standard d/f + 2 launcher. After understanding the timing of his EWGF, try f, f + 4, Screw!, f, f + 3, 1 ~ f, f + 2. If you need to more damaging combo, try EWGF, EWGF, f, f + 4, Screw!, f, f + 3, 1 ~ f, f + 2, f + 3 + 4.

Once again, allow me to say that landing DJ’s advanced combos requires hours and hours of practice. Due to this, always try to go for easier versions. If you manage to wall carry your opponent, try 1, 2, b + 4. This combo is easy to execute and deals a ton of damage. In case you want something flashy, you can try b, f + 2, 1, 2. When trying to execute the second wall-combo, remember to delay the second 2 input.

Overall, Devil Jin in Tekken 7 has exceptional mobility, incredible space control, confusing mix-ups, and one of the highest damage outputs in the game. However, similar to other Mishima characters in the game, his learning curve is steep and you cannot just pick him up and expect to do well. Moreover, I think his difficulty curve is also his weakness since he is abysmal in the hand of bad even average players.
