Hitman’s June Update Might Be the Last We’ll Have
Hitman’s June update might just be the very last content update we would see. Hitman’s development is going through a rough patch that may last a long time. Square Enix is looking for a buyer to sell developer IO Interactive which casts a shadow over the future of Hitman.
Hitman released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC as an episodic game and developers kept adding more content via updates ever since its release. However, that may come to an end soon and may very well have with the June update.
Hitman’s June update brought new missions and challenges on 5 different stages. June update details were released on IO Interactive’s official website.
The Spaggiari Subversion is the first Escalation Contract on the ‘Landslide’ Bonus Mission and challenges you with 5 different stages. Expect three different targets, some weapon and disguise restrictions and a few other surprises.
The Asya Attunement is the fourth Escalation Contract to be added for Bangkok and the five stages include complications involving shotguns, laser tripwires, exterminators, enforcers and kill streaks. Have fun!
According to Square Enix, the company is engaging with different investors to make sure Hitman and other IO games to continue their development. This does not mean that Hitman Season 2 is happening for sure but it does give hope. However, while we might see new content release in the future players should prepare for Season 2’s cancellation.
We will have more details about the future of Hitman in the near future.
