The game’s success can be measured by the fact that Overwatch has over 30 million registered players worldwide and now Activision has revealed that the game has become a billion-dollar franchise for the company.

In the Activision Blizzard’s latest earnings report, the company revealed that the game has crossed a big milestone in terms of sales, actively becoming a “billion-dollar franchise” in the process joining the ranks of the franchises such as Call Of Duty and World Of Warcraft. To be precise, Overwatch is the 8th billion-dollar franchise in the company’s portfolio.

According to the Activision Blizzard, Overwatch has set a new record for monthly active users during fiscal Q1, bit did not share any specifics. However, it is impressive for the game to become a billion-dollar franchise, given that it has not been a year since the game’s launch.
