New Tekken 7 Gameplay Trailer Pits Kazumi Against Lee

Bandai Namco has released yet another new Tekken 7 gameplay trailer, showcasing an intense duel between two popular characters from the franchise.

Lee, who made his debut in the first-ever installment, is returning this year with his signature smug personality and catchphrases. He looks better than ever, and his lightning kicks look quicker than before.

The new Tekken 7 gameplay trailer pits him against Kazumi Mishima, one of the main antagonists and who will be making her debut in the game. She is notably the mother of Kazuya Mishima, the paternal grandmother of Jin Kazama, and the wife of Heihachi Mishima.

Tekken 7 will be packed with a number of features. Most recently, it was discovered that the game has “Magic Mirror” to prevent opponents from moving or hitting after they land the finishing blow. The feature has to be unlocked first and is a way of stopping opponents from disrespecting after winning games.

There is also the Treasure Battle mode where you can “earn ranks, money, and unlock customization,” as well as a “Turbo Battle” option. For those wondering, a lot of characters will have traditional outfits taken from previous Tekken installments. This includes the original costumes of Jin, Eddy, and others.

As for the subject of cross-play functionality, it seems unlikely at this point but may be possible at some point in the future. The difficulty mainly lies in Microsoft and Sony coming to terms. The developer cannot simply enable the support for a couple of platforms and leave the third platform on the sidelines. It has to be for everyone or for no one.

Tekken 7 is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 2.
