This Crazy Death Stranding Theory is Not So Crazy After All

By   /   May 3, 2017

Death Stranding is one of the most hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusives and fans all around the world are generating their own theories about what’s to come. From Facebook to YouTube to Reddit, the Hideo Kojima fans are talking about Death Stranding.

Among the theories, there is one that sounds crazy but it still manages to make sense. This theory originates from a Reddit post which claims that PlayStation 4’s lightbar and the handcuffs worn by Norman Reedus in Death Stranding are connected. Both game trailers of Death Stranding show characters wearing handcuffs. In the first reveal trailer, the game showed Norman Reedus wearing a handcuff while the second trailer showed Del Toro wearing one. Both scenes had flashing lights on the handcuff that are similar to the lightbar of Dualshock 4.

According to the theory, the handcuff connected to the controller would be like players are forcibly making the character do certain actions in the game.

Controller = Handcuffs

Due to the lack of gameplay videos, we can prove this theory. But that also means that we can not fully disprove this theory as well. Knowing Hideo Kojima, there is always a hidden meaning in such elements so it won’t be surprising if this theory is more than just a theory.

Death Stranding is scheduled to appear at E3 2017 and will reportedly release on PlayStation 4 sometime before 2019. What do you think of this fan theory? Is it something that seems to be cooked up inside Hideo Kojima’s twisted mind? Let us know in the comments below.
