Tekken 7 Won’t Feature Roger Jr. Due to Animal Activists

Bandai Namco Entertainment has revealed that Roger.Jr is not making to Tekken 7 to avoid any controversy from animal activists.

Tekken is little over a month away from launch and fans of the franchise are excited about the game. As the release is getting closer, devs have been revealing new details about the game regarding the Cross-Play, which might happen, and more. Now the studio has revealed that Roger.Jr is not making to Tekken 7 due to animal activists.

Tekken is a franchise that has never taken itself seriously, I mean we have pandas and Shaolin wooden man fighting in the game. While the game has not such message about human dominance or animal cruelty but it seems that series producer Katsuhiro Harada is trying to avoid any kind of controversy. He told VG 24/7 that Roger.Jr is not going to be part of the game due to animal activists.

There was a video of a man’s dog being head locked by a kangaroo, and he punched it in the face. It turned into a big problem… It seems that in the last few years there’s a lot more animal activists – even though they probably wouldn’t play our game they would still hear about that, about a kangaroo in our game being punched, and would complain about it.

Also, it seems that we might see NieR Automata’s protagonist 2B as a playable character in upcoming Tekken game. Game producer and director, Katsuhiro Harada, has sent out a tweet asking fans which guest character they would like to see in Tekken 7. Since then fans have been trying to get 2B to become the guest character for the upcoming Tekken game.

However, Kazuma Kiryu from the Yakuza series is the most requested guest player for the upcoming Tekken game. Kazuya Kiryu is the perpetually stern Japanese martial artist from the Yakuza series, who recently starred in Yakuza 0.

Tekken 7 is a fighting video game in development at Bandai Namco and is scheduled to launch on Jue 2, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
