Next Street Fighter V DLC Character Leaked, Possesses Psycho Powers

The next Street Fighter V DLC character was originally slated to release this week but has now been pushed back by the developer to a later date.

As confirmed by Capcom last week, the decision is based on its plans to host a second beta for the overhauled Capcom Fighters Network (CFN) next month. This also means that the highly anticipated balance patch has been delayed as well.

Thanks to an updated PlayStation Store listing (via PVP Live), we now know the identity of the next Street Fighter V DLC character. It is Ed, the young boy being trained by Balrog in the story mode of Street Fighter V. He appears to possess some form of Psycho Powers that make his eyes glow purple when activated.

Ed made his first appearance as a non-playable character in Street Fighter IV, during the ending sequences of both Rose and Balrog. He was at one point being considered as a new host body for M. Bison. However, those plans ended with the destruction of the Shadaloo Intimidation Network (SIN).

As far as the new installment is concerned, Ed was able to shut down Nash in the story trailer. Clearly, the young lad has significant power that convinced Capcom to select him as the next Street Fighter V DLC character.

The following, though limited, is what his CFN profile currently contains.

This guy might’ve piqued your interest, no? He’s the youngster who was working together with Balrog. He’s got quite the mysterious aura about him.

Basic:

  • Name: Ed
  • Height: 167cm
  • Weight: 58kg
  • Blood type: Unknown
  • Birthday: 3rd of September
  • Country of origin: Unknown
  • Likes: Billiards
  • Dislikes: Idealistic people

Profile:

  • He was captured by S.I.N and planned to be used as a potential spare body for M. Bison.
  • After Seth was defeated, Master Balrog saved him from the collapsing laboratory.

Yesterday, a new batch of Capcom Pro Tour DLC was announced. Both Ryu and Ken are receiving formal attires, while Capcom will introduce another Capcom Pro Tour-themed stage this year. We also have confirmation on the new Champion’s Choice Costume, which will be designed by last year’s winner Du “NuckleDu” Dang. Based on rumors, the costume will be of Guile.
