Red Dead Redemption V Mod For GTA V Has Been Canceled

The hype for Red Dead Redemption 2 is going strong and like the previous game in the franchise, the upcoming sequel will not be released for PC. However, there was Red Dead Redemption V, a mod for GTA V that was to bring Red Dead Redemption to PC, sadly the project has been canceled as the modders have announced.

Red Dead Redemption V was a high-profile mod for GTA V that intended to bring the original RDR to PC. One of the modders, Mr. Leisurewear, explained the reason behind canceling the mod. According to the modder, the team was contacted after the trailer for the mod was released.

I know this is a hard pill to swallow, but as you may have noticed we did get contacted, and we sadly have to say we are stopping this project. So thanks guys, we were all so happy to see this, but it isn’t going to happen, sorry.

While he did not reveal who contacted the modders but it is clear that it might have been Take-Two, who own the rights to Red Dead Redemption.

Speaking on Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar has not revealed much of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 except for a reveal trailer and fans have spent months trying to find something that has not been found. Turns out eagle-eyed fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 has found something that is actually interesting. One fan has found that one particular scene in the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer is inspired by “Open Range”, which is a movie released in 2003.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world western action adventure game in development at Rockstar Games and is scheduled to launch in fall 2017. The game is a console exclusive, however, according to a leak, we might see a PC port of the game.
