Does Kojima Productions Have 300 People On Death Stranding Development?

Mads Mikkelsen recently said at the first official Saudi Arabian ComicCon that Kojima Productions had over 300 people working on Death Stranding development. While we don’t know if it’s true, it would appear that either all of, or a huge portion of, the studio is working on developing the studio’s first game.

Death Stranding was announced at last year’s E3 conference and since then we’ve learned almost nothing about it aside from its cast, which includes people like Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen. The story remains a mystery, but hopefully we’ll learn more about it soon.

There’s always the possibility that Mikkelsen could have been exaggerating, but in the meantime we’ll just have to trust that a ton of Kojima Production’s employees are dedicated to Death Stranding development. With pretty much every Metal Gear Solid fan wondering what Kojima is going to come up with next, everyone’s hoping for information.

Death Stranding is Kojima’s long-awaited return to the gaming scene after his epic throwdown with Konami that saw the deaths of Silent Hill and Metal Gear as franchises (since Konami has instead contented itself with putting everything in pachinko).

His surprise appearance at E3 2017, and the subsequent reveal of Death Stranding, made everyone fall in love with him all over again. Especially since the trailer, despite being incomprehensible, looked amazing. Since then we’ve gotten another equally incomprehensible trailer at the Video Game Awards last year, but still no real information on what the game is about.

Hopefully, with another E3 conference coming up in around two months, we’ll be able to actually get some concrete plot information about Death Stranding when the Playstation conference rolls around. Until then, we’ll have to sit through the Death Stranding development process until Hideo Kojima actually comes out and says something about the game and how it’s progressing.
