The Sheer Scope And Audicity Of Prey Is Bigger Than Our Team, Says Dev
Prey is just a month away from launch and fans are excited about the game. As the launch is getting closer, Arkane Studios has been revealing new details about the game, and this time the studio talks about the sheer scope of the game, saying that it is bigger than the developer itself.
Speaking with GamesTM(via WCCFTech), Arkane’s Lead System Designer Seth Shain talked about Prey and said that the game is bigger than the team developing it.
The scope of it, the audacity of it, the hubris of it. I think we’ve made a game that is bigger than the team that we have and I think we are pulling it off. I’m thrilled with how this game has come out.
The sheer audacity of what we have dared to build in this game, it’s a little bit mind-boggling to me. The fact that we were able to stuff it all into this package called Prey is kind of amazing; it’s a testament to the team and the passion of the developers we have here. Everybody shared in this vision and really wanted to see this thing through the end.
Also, the studio has confirmed that Prey will have some elements from Dishonored, like multiple endings.
According to lead designer Ricardo Bare, the game will have multiple endings and it will all depend on the players’ choice regarding the space station and the characters that are still alive. However, there will be two main endings, the rest will be variations of these two.
Also, the game will not feature any boss fights. According to the devs, that is because how the AI works, the normal enemies [Telepaths] feel like mini bosses.
Prey is an upcoming first-person shooter in development at Arkane Studios and will launch on May 5, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
