Nioh Sequel

Nioh is an action-RPG for PlayStation 4 highly praised by critics and players. Its success has been remarkable since launch, and could now lead developers to make a Nioh Sequel.

During a recent interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, the Nioh Sequel question was addressed by game director Fumihiko Yasuda, as he told that a new game is possible.

For now, a sequel is still undecided, but the team is considering the possibility since the game is doing good even out from Japan.

As a matter of fact, Nioh is the most successful game ever published by Koei Tecmo in the West; as claimed by Koei Tecmo’s general manager Yasutomo Watanabe during a chat with MCV UK, Nioh has sold over 1 million copies since launch.

He has said that the approach Team Ninja chose gave very important results, as they essentially made fans feel part of the project thanks to the release of alpha and beta versions of Nioh; it has helped increase interest in the game and shape their expectations.

Nioh has proved to be a very good game, and you can read below part of the review made by Segmentnext’s Sikandar Mahmood.

Nioh’s art style, setting, and pacing is what’s most impressive. It is not the most beautiful looking game on PS4 but it is at least in the top 10. Lighting, texture quality, aliasing, all aspects are handled well by Team Ninja.

We are only little over a couple of months into 2017 and we will see more great games this year. But Nioh is without a doubt our first game of the year contender!

Action RPG Nioh was released on February 7h, 2017, for PlayStation 4 only. You can read our review here.
