Red Dead Redemption 2 Reveal On 4K Scorpio Could be a Great Combo, If Rumors are True

If the rumors are true then the only way to fully enjoy Red Dead Redemption 2 will be through playing the game on Xbox One Scorpio and let me tell you WHY?

Just recently, rumors have emerged that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be used to demo the soon to be revealed Xbox One Scorpio among other games.

Rockstar’s upcoming game, one of the highly anticipated games will be used to demo the power of Xbox One Scorpio, which itself will be able to play games at 4K resolution. Imagine that and let is sink in.

While we have seen nothing but a single trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 which was impressive in many ways. If the past work of Rockstar Games is any indication we might witness one of the most visually impressive games to grace a console running at 4K resolution.

If the rumors are true then the only way to fully enjoy or immerse ourselves in Red Dead Redemption 2 will be through playing the game on Xbox One Scorpio and let me tell you WHY?

Microsoft has been marketing the upcoming console as the most powerful console ever with 6 TFLOPs of computational power, capable of running games at 4K resolution.

If Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for the console at launch, the game will greatly benefit from the superior hardware of Xbox One Scorpio. There is not doubt that Microsoft will opt to showcase the game at 4K resolution even if it has to run the game at 30 FPS.

However, chances are that the game will feature multiple display modes given that not everyone will have 4K TV at its disposal. Players will be able to enjoy the game at 60 FPS at a 1080p resolution as Microsoft has clarified that it will depend on the developer how they intend to utilize the power of the console.

Given the specs of the console, Red Dead Redemption 2 will have no trouble running at 60 FPS even on the visual fidelity we saw in the very first trailer for the game.

Rockstar’s upcoming game could prove to be the Horizon Zero Dawn for Xbox One Scorpio, as that game showcased what PlayStation 4 could achieve in terms of visuals.

Also, there is a chance that Red Dead Redemption 2 might be a Xbox Play Anywhere title which might not be surprising given that Middle-Earth Shadow Of War is a third party title and is also a Xbox Play Anywhere title.

Meaning those who would buy the game for Xbox One Scorpio might be able to play the game on PC if Rockstar decides to release the game for PC that is.

Aside from that, being able to play Red Dead Redemption 2 at 4K without even considering buying an expensive PC for that, is enough to convince players to play the game on the upgraded console.

As with the PC, players will not only require an expensive setup but there will still be a chance that the game’s frame rates will drop. On the other hand, players will have a console capable of running the game at 4K resolution and they won’t have to tinker with the game’s setting to get a smooth FPS out of it.
