World of Warcraft Subscription Becoming More Expensive

Bad new for fans of World of Warcraft, Blizzard is about to increase prices for all of its services. These new prices will be applicable on 5th April, 2017.

Blizzard is raising the prices of all the account services for players of World of Warcraft from 5th April, 2017. These services will now cost up to 25 percent more.

Blizzard had recently announced earlier this week that the prices for Hearthstone will be increased, so this is nothing unexpected.

During the Hearthstone announcement Blizzard said:

We carefully review the prices of our games and services in all currencies on a regular basis, and we occasionally need to make changes based on regional market conditions.

So any of you who were planning on using these services, you should get to it soon. Because these services will cost 25 percent less till April 4, 2017. Buying them now is going to save you some cash.

Players all over the world are questioning Blizzard’s reasons for increasing their price rates, as mentioned earlier Blizzard did the same with Hearthstone’s card purchases, which raised the price for two packs from £1.99 to £2.99, and for seven packs from £6.99 to £8.99.

Euro pricing also got a firm increase, with up to 11 percent.

Blizzard’s such attempts to increase revenue does not seem feasible, since hiking up the prices does not guarantee more spending, on the contrary it is upsetting many players.

We have to agree with the players this time, because 19£ for a character transfer seems greedy no matter how you put it, and 9£ to change your name is just bizarre.

If a person does not have 9£ he is stuck with the same name forever, putting a price over such a service sounds insane enough, let alone putting a price of 9£ over it.

With Hearthstone and World of Warcraft’s escalating prices, it is only a matter of time when Blizzard increases its rates for Overwatch as well.

Is Blizzard’s pricing for World of Warcraft reasonable? What do you think? Tell us in the comments below
