Mass Effect Andromeda Crafting – Research Data Farming

Before we discuss RD points, it’s important to learn about types of weapons in Mass Effect Andromeda.

Remnant Weapons – Use Beams, can Overheat, Constant Rate of Fire
Milky Way Weapons – Use Ammo, Good against Non-Shielded Enemies
Heleus Weapons – Plasma-based Weapons, Slow Rate of Fire, can be Charged

Similar to weapons, RD points in Mass Effect Andromeda are of three types. A specific RD point unlocks new blueprints from its corresponding weapon type. But what about farming RD points?

In order to farm RD points, you need to scan the environment and scanned objects will let you farm RD points. Some other ways of farming RD points include scanning planets, launching probes, and completing different side-quests.

Mass Effect Andromeda Crafting – Understanding Research

Research is done in Research Centers found on the Tempest and other outposts in the game. In these centers, there are different technology types you can research. Moreover, within each technology type, there are three types of equipment i.e. weapons, armor, and augmentations.

Lastly, each item has five tiers and unlocking more powerful tier requires researching the previous tier, a particular level, and spending additional RD points. This, however, doesn’t work for augmentations. Augmentations are automatically acquired after spending the required RD points. Once done, you should be able to find the item while exploring.

Mass Effect Andromeda Crafting – Gathering Resources

In order to craft a piece of gear, you need to find resources or crafting materials. These materials are divided into three categories i.e. minerals, bio materials, and tech materials.

A specific piece of gear requires a combination of different resources. These resources usually differ, but there are some common elements as well. When it comes to finding these resources, here’s what you need to know:

Minerals cannot only be mined but can also be farmed by probing anomalies across the galaxy. Bio Materials are farmed by hunting down animals. Finally, Tech Materials are farmed from containers found all across the galaxy.
